The CSIRO building is located in the Hobart’s waterfront (3-4 Castray Esplanade , Battery Point, TAS 7004)), the place of the Tasmania’s most famous market, restaurants to taste fresh seafood, or simply walk along the wharf and watch yacht and fishing fleet.
Once you are in Hobart goes to CSIRO main building (Map below). The registration desk will be indicated with signs and people will be waiting for you at the main entrance.
Getting to Hobart
There are a number of domestic airline carriers that travel from all major Australian mainland airports to Hobart airport: Jetstar, Qantas, Tiger Airways, Virgin Australia
From the airport
There are a number of options for travel from the airport to Hobart CBD:
Hobart Express Skybus service provides transport to Brooke St. Pier (two blocks from the venue). Services is provided every 30 minutes seven days a week. adult return fares are AU$36 (online) and one way is AU$18.5 online (AU$19.5 direct to the driver with credit card).
Hobart airport shuttle bus service provides transport to the centre of Hobart and direct drop-off to most accommodation providers – adult return fares are AU$35. Alternatively, there are several car rental companies are located at the airport just opposite the Domestic Terminal. Also, several taxi companies regularly service the airport with a taxi rank located out the front of the Domestic Terminal – expect to pay on the order of AU$50 for a one-way trip
Tasmania can also be accessed from the Australian mainland via a ferry service between Melbourne and Devonport on the Spirit of Tasmania. The Spirit of Tasmania carries both passengers and motor vehicles.
For those travelling with motor vehicles on the Spirit of Tasmania, Devonport is 277 km (three and a half hour drive approximately) from Hobart. For those travelling as passengers on the Spirit of Tasmania, Tassielink Coaches and Redline provide bus services between Hobart and the ship terminal.
